Well, my surgery is next week and my surgeon called and said it might be canceled because I have a high white blood count of 17,000. They say it's an infection, but I feel fine, and now I'm starting to feel really depressed about it, I went from excited to sad in 1 second. I went to the doctor but they said nothing is wrong and I explained to the doctor, but no one seems to understand why. I guess I'm over-stressing it more but just hearing that really set me back. =\

So are you still going to have the surgery? If you feel fine and dont have any other issues like fever or feeling tired or any symptoms of being sick, there is no reason why they shouldnt go ahead with the surgery. Increased White blood cell count can be caused severe emotional or physical stress...I know my 2 week pre-op liquid diet caused both of those!

A lady who had surgery my same day had a massive cold with laryngitis and the works 4 days before surgery and she still had it.

I would not get down. Like you said you feel fine. Just be sure to make your surgeon understand how great you feel.

Good Luck!
