Hi, i was banded 9/17/10 and weighed 320. I have only at this point lost 26 pounds and i seriously think i am totally messing up but not sure how? I have tracked my food and eat mostly protein first and veggies next. I avoid breads, sweets, carbs and i gave up pop. I am so over the top frustrated as to why i am not losing. I drink lots of water , but lately i have just become so why do it , it won't work , so i am back to pop , i still avoid carbs and bread and sweets. I had a fluro on april 16th and was found to not be tight even at 8.0 , so they increased me to 10.5 and i have not lost. I can feel the food just sliding thru and i remain hungry? Has anyone else had trouble this way, any suggestions, i am so frustrated with the whole thing!

I'm sorry you're having a rough time, lifesaver. And, I don't know what to tell you-- I can understand why you must be frustrated. When is the last time you went in to see your surgeon? It's probably time to do some investigative work to find out what's happening in there, beyond the fluoro. If your calories are low enough but not too low (you didn't mention), then you should be losing.

Something doesn't sound right. You should be losing more I would think, especially of you are watching your diet. What did your doctor say? Do you have an appetite? Be an advocate for your Band! Do you have a NUT to goover your food choices? Good luck to you and I am sure things will turn around for you!

Is it possible your band was misplaced? I have heard of rare cases where the band was mistakenly only placed around epigastric fat, and not around the stomach at all, so there was no restriction. I have no idea how they would check for that, though. I would definitely go back to the surgeon, and probably even consult with another one for a second opinion. I can't even imagine how desperately frustrated you must feel, after all you went through to get your band, and how hard you are working. My heart truly goes out to you. Good luck -- you WILL figure this out.
