I was banded December 2nd 2009 and had a wonderful experience.  Like many, I researched this option for a long time (6 years) and met with several surgeons before making this commitment.  I could not have picked a better surgeon for me.  Dr. Webber is direct, confident and has a wonderful positive energy.  I found his entire team to be caring, knowledgeable and supporting, offering great encouragement.  The nursing staff at Harper was great, I did not want for a thing in my overnight stay.  My family felt the surgical lounge staff was very helpful and kept them informed as well.  Unlike what I read on a few other postings I saw Dr. Webber when I woke up in recovery, right after that he spoke with my family directly and I saw him the next morning before I was released.  In addition, he contacted me the next day at home to follow up and see how I was doing.  I am happy I chose Dr. Webber and I would recommend him!  Five stars from me!

Dr. Webber was very nice and informative during my consultation. He sat down, showed us a lap-band, explained the procedure, and answered all my questions. I specifically asked him about the mortality rate, and he answered it very truthfully (I believe). He's done more than 500 lap-bands and has never lost anyone during surgery. He did, however, lose an older patient about two weeks out due to a pulmonary embolism.I was a bit disappointed that I did not see him the day of my surgery. I realize it was because he was doing back-to-back surgeries, but I would have liked to see him one more time before he cut me open and placed a foreign object inside me! His surgical team did meet with me and talk with my husband afterwards.I saw him the day after surgery, and I really appreciated him working on a holiday (Thanksgiving). He again took the time to answer all my questions, joked with us, and sent me on my merry way.All in all, I would definitely recommend him, even if he is a very busy surgeon.

Dr. Webber has done over 500 lap band surgeries.  I was an out of town patient, so I only met him the day before.  He seemed experienced, but I got the impression that he squeezes in as many surgeries as possible.  He was an hour late for our consult, and my surgery was 3 hours behind the next day.  Also, I probably needed to stay in hospital one more day.  I felt I was sent home too early and sort of had a breakdown (of course, this would have cost me a lot more).  But, a week later, I guess I'm doing okay.  Dr. and medical facilities were fine.
