Hello, wow you are back to work already? Good for you. I changed my mind and had RNY for several reasons. The main one is that I am "prediabetic" and RNY has been shown to be a cure for diabetes. The Lap Band may help me loose weight, but if I were to ever develop diabetes, I would need to have the RNY, I just didn't want to have to deal with that. Also, I am super busy, a Nurse Practitioner, and I didn't want to have to deal with scheduling for fills.

Hey.. I am glad you are home.. I know it is hard to be back at work .. the first few days were pretty rough for me.. You will do well. Just take it easy.. I have lost a few pounds, but it certainly slowed down since I went from liquids to food..I was thinking about going back to protein drinks for a few days, but I really just dont think I can handle the protein drinks again ha ha not yet anyways, but I am taking it one day at a time. I never eat over my alotted amounth and only have 1 snack a day so we will see what happens. The doctor said we would see a period were we would not loose any because our body was healing. I am hoping that is all mine is doing right now. I go for my first fill on 11/04..
keep me posted and take care

How are you? I have been very busy. I am in a leadership class at work. I hate stuff like that but was trying to stay on the good side of my boss. LOL
I am so nervous. It always seems better fighting to get somewhere. But I think that is just my nerves. I go for preop testing tomorrow. Have you?

Yes, I cried. I am not really sure why, but I did. Well, I knew partly that it was because as I started my pre-op diet today and my old habits would die hard. I knew that today I would start a new journey that would bring me to new points in my life that I have never been before. I was a huge ball of emotions. I was happy that I would reach my goal but sad that I would have to leave my comfort zone in order to do so. Food to me is like a security blanket to a toddler. I will have to find comfort...
