Thyroid problems

Last month found out thyroid basically not working, which explains why no weight loss last couple of months. Trying to get meds all balanced out so can start losing again. Just frustrating when I'm so close to being 100 down and when I'm doing everything the way I'm supposed to be doing it (with diet and exercise)

{sigh}

I'm Hypothyroid myself. I discovered my body wasn't producing the hormone that controls the metabolism three years ago. I've been on synthroid ever since. It took the docs about 3 months to get my medicine regulated. I have been able to lose weight, even with my condition. I know it is frustrating! You try and try and KNOW you are doing everything right and NO WEIGHT LOSS! I gained between 60 and 70 pounds in a year before I found out about mine! I still have to lose that and then some.

Once they get you regulated and your TSH level is where it needs to be you'll start losing again. Hang in there - at least you have discovered the problem and are on the way to getting your metabolism up and working again...<<hugs>>

I am a november bandster, but saw your post. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism at 15 years of age. I had then even been battling my weight. My levels are checked yearly and have only had to have a couple of adjustments in that time. I too take synthroid and in generic form. Make sure that your blood tests are fasting (although some new docs don't think that is necessary) and give your body a couple of months to kick in. You will be amazed at how much better you feel when your levels are back in the normal range. I can always tell when I am out of wack!

Good luck.
