damn big macs and french fries for smelling and looking so good

damn adkitns advantage protein shake for not tasting like the damn big mac and french fries that look and smell so good

does anyone besides me find it completely mind numbing that we can put a man on the moon and yet protein shakes taste like crap?

I know your pain....but totally disagree...

What we have done, is allow ourselves to be co=opted by the death-on-a-bun society that has no interest in nor patience for exploring the REAL universe of marvelous taste, perfectly healthy foods, and an appreciation for the natural order of things.

We have allowed ourselves the distraction of un-nutritional non foods to replace what our bodies require to keep us running healthily.

We have fallen into the habit of driving to a place that turns out a product engineered for profit and return customers.

Why not enjoy a plain ripe unadulterated peach?

What tastes like crap IS those very things you mention....

jack, omg, how gross is all that crap? yuck yuck.

i havent eaten mcdonalds since i was banded, well, i havent eaten burgers and fries, i have had the grilled chicken salad. and when i do go for my kids it doesnt even seem appealling, until today. for whatever reason, today it smelled and looked so good sitting on my co-workers desk!

I agree with you on the protein shake. I need to get out the blender and have a go at some shake recipes. Just drinking them as-is is pretty gross.

I'm going to go back now to plotting a suitable demise for whichever co-worker it was that made popcorn.

Firstly, THANK YOU for the timely reminder, that fast food isn't fast, you have to drive there, wait and come home again - its junk food, JUNK JUNK JUNK

On the Shakes, true they don't taste like Burger King shakes, but I honestly, hand on heart, enjoy the Strawberry Optifast - but don't try me on the Vanilla *arghhhhhh - YUK!

i tried the strawberry atkins advantage shake day before yesterday and i could actually drink it without gagging!

yesterday i tried the slimfast low carb creamy chocolate...ick.

so i am thinking that strawberry will be my taste of choice. i will have to try the optifast. thanks! and i will be sure to stay away from the vanilla.

Try this:

Get the Carnation Instant Breakfast Vanilla sugar free
add a scoop or half a scoop of non flavored (yeah right) whey protein
add fat free milk and a little ice
then add some fat free or sugar free or whatever peanut butter
mix it up and I promise you that you will LOVE it
(well as long as you like peanut butter)

You will also get lot's of protein from this drink
When I was doing this I did it for breakfast and it was approx 270 cal. per shake and 32 grams of protein
