What happens when you can't get more fills

Hey everyone,
It has been a while since I posted. I have been doing well, but since the last month or so my weight loss has slowed---slowed isn't the right word, maybe every so slightly creeped down occassionally.
I was thinking I needed another fill (I have 1.5cc total), but I was reading on some other post that the total fill amount for this band is 4cc. So I began to panic. I just assumed in a 9.75 band you could have 9.75 cc. Anyway I guess I was hoping to hear from you guys and the amount of cc's you had to speed up your weight loss.
Also I realize that some of this is from eating the wrong things---obviously if I only ate protein and vegetables then I would be good, but the whole reason I got the band in the first place is because I like to eat....even after I have had enough.
This brings me to my second problem. I have found if I really want a piece of pizza that I can eat a little, wait 10 to 15 minutes then eat a little more til it is all gone. I think I am suppossed to just eat til I am full the first time but my mind wants the whole damn piece. Anyone else dealing with this.
THanks,
Elizabeth.

I think we ALL have some of that compulsive 'eat-it-all-then-want-more' syndrome.

My own demons of 'eat till FULL' never were satisfied....as "FULL" is so temporary, while the satisfaction of "satiety" means being NOT hungry.

The complex reasons we Morbidly Obese consume in spite of ourselves, must be addressed somewhere along the postOp path.

Personally I never experienced the sensation of "satiety" until postOp.

It has been a wonderful discovery. I urge you to explore what that vital and so delicate voice is, that so gently tells us if we listen, the difference between 'hunger' and 'eating'.....

I was raised with the notion 'eat till you're full'.....and spent most of my life trying to 'get full'.....it never worked.

Explore 'satiety' and you will find a better way to guide your eating.

Normos eat when they are hungry and stop when they are satiated.

Morbidly Obese eat when they are hungry and don't stop.

Pay attention to 'eating behavior' and train yourself to not eat unless you ARE hungry....then stop. It's a whole new world.

cheers on your journey

I second what Jack says. There is a big difference between eating until you're satisfied and eating because you want to.

I was trying to explain what the band does to my mother the other day. There are so many times when I WANT to eat, but can't because I'm full. Whereas, pre-band, I could eat and eat and eat and just NEVER stop.

I still have close to 100 lbs to lose (60+ lost so far) and so I *feel* like I have time to conquer the head hunger vs stomach hunger issues. The band just helps me contain my eating to smaller amounts.

Like your pizza. Before, how many slices could you have eaten? One slice really isn't that big of deal, is it? Before the band, I could have eaten the whole thing, and the side order of wings. :)

So, one slice in the grand scheme of things is still pretty cool. And, the slower you eat it, the better, too. Taking 15 minutes is good. It will make you think you ate more than you really did - conquering your head hunger and satisfying your tummy hunger.

win-win
