City: WOBURN State: MA | Freezing Hands/feet?
Does anyone else's appendages freeze all the time - or is it me.
This NEVER use to happen before I was banded... in fact, I was always sweating at the mere hint of heat.
Is there a supplement I'm missing? Or is this caused by my metabolism issue? Or is it just that the less fat on your body, the colder you get?

City: Aztec State: New Mexico | I freeze now for the first time since I don't know when!!! I joke about losing the outer layer of insulation. I found my hands especially would get cold, and figured maybe I needed to increase my circulation, so I use that as a push to make me go get on the elliptical for a ride! It warms me right back up. My DH makes jokes about it all the time, saying the only way we were able to survive out camping in the cold, was my hot flashes---well, that is not gonna work no more!!! Don't they say "cold hands---warm heart"?? You are not alone---but I have no idea if there is any kind of supplement, or what of that nature might be causing it, I think it is just the weight loss. But I'd rather have cold hands! Kat

I am really getting annoyed by my constant coldness now! I've been banded for 3.5 years and have been cold since weeks after my surgery. I've had my thyroid checked twice and they say it's totally fine. There definitely has to be something chemical that happens either with where the band is physically placed (hey, it makes hunger magically disappear with no food in your belly, surely it can do other things) or any number of things.
It's hard to shake people's hands - I am either dry and cold or clammy and cold no matter the weather. My apartment and office have to stay really toasty for me to have normal hands. Very aggravating!

I am always cold now. It's weird because I used to always be the one who was sweating, even if I wasn't outside. I was a church Sunday and I was shaking hands with some people and every one of them commented on how cold my hands were.

I was always the HOT one. I always carried a fan in my purse so that I could fan myslef... haha.
Now I am cold a lot. My hands are freezing right now as I type this. I have no idea why....but I figure if I am cold, then my metabolism is having to work harder to warm me up!

I was skinny until I was 30 and I was cold all the time. Never left the house without a sweater. I'd be awake half the night because my feet were so miserably cold. I'm not lookinf forward to that again!

| Me too!
I've lost 50 lbs and I'm freezing all the time too. When I was thin, I used to always wear socks to bed at night because I had such cold feet. I'm back to that!

Good idea - I'll have my iron and hemoglobin checked. Being cold actually kept me from loosing more this winter. I actually ate more to keep warm - not good. Now that the weather is warmer I'm back on track!

City: WOBURN State: MA | low iron...cold hands.
I'm happy to see I'm not the only one freezing!
I am "low in iron", and also have a vit D deficiency that showed in the results of my last bloodwork I had done. I'm currently taking a liquid power/shake multivitamin from GNC (and like it), so I would think I'd be getting enough. (And I mix it in skim milk which also has vit d). I also read that it could be some type of adrenal dysfunction - but haven't had that tested...
My doc says I should take pill supplements - but I'm hesitant because my LB Dr. says to not take pills (or cut them in half).
Has anyone had a pill get "stuck"? :confused2:
