Chocolate

I ate chocolate tonight. I couldn't help myself. I went back to old habits and ate 8 miniature snickers. I feel VERY guilty and wish I hadn't done it. I also ate 12 ritz crackers with light cream cheese. This is definitely the worst I have done since 3 weeks before surgery.

I plan on getting right back on track and definitely don't want to do this again. Amazing how the mind works!

:faint:

Don't worry about it...move on. It happened and you can't take it back. :)

It happens to all of us!!! Plus I can think of a lot worse, so you didn't do so bad!

The most important part to remember about being banded is that it is a tool...you can either use it or not, but it wont go away unless you have it removed...SOOOOOO unlike Weight Watchers or those other diets, you can start back right TOMORROW and MAY not even show any effects from your slip up...Probably most if not all of us here have cheated one way or another...it happens, we all screw up, but Tomorrow is a new day.

Ya know? When drug addicts and alcoholics go to rehab they dont have to HAVE that addiction to survive. But WE are addicted to food, something WE HAVE to partake in everyday....How successful would a person addicted to Coke or Alcohol be if they had to take a little 3 times or more a day (depending on the specifics of your eating regimen)???

I heard that on a Discovery Channel special...its not excuse by far, but it makes slip-ups more managable and understandable in our heads. Dont beat yourself up, but realize that the continuence of slip-ups will be a waste of time, money, and sick-feelings.

The act of eating them isnt even important, truly. Its what you do afterwards that counts. Moving on is the important thing.

This will happen to you many times, obviously your first defence is to avoid doing it in the first place but you dont suddenly switch from a fat person to a thin one overnight, it takes a long time to learn those skills.

As long as you move right on, and dont fall in a heap, it will not matter. As long as its not happening every day, lol.

Time4me, take a moment to mentally compare this post-band slip to a pre-band binge. Although you feel guilty, I am sure the calorie damage was TINY compared to what you might have done before you were banded. In the long run, it won't even be noticable. Especially since you recognized it and are back on the right track.

You are on your way to success!
