City: Pittsburgh State: PA | Tomorrow....one month banded....back to work! Lunch ideas?
Hi all......
I know some of you have been back to work for quite some time! But, for me....it's back tomorrow. Tomorrow...Sept 10....marks my one month bandiversary. I am working on what to pack for lunch, snacks, etc. Even though I am to start to slowly put real foods back into my menu, I don't want to chance it my first day back at work. If I got sick....that would be a problem!!!! :whoo: Any good ideas for lunches, snacks to pack? And, any other good tips for getting back to the merry go round that is MY LIFE.....especially at THIS time of the year with everything kicking in!
Love to hear what others are packing for lunches and snacks! :hungry::hungry: Thanks!!!

What works for me at lunchtime is a little tuna salad with some pita chips. This way I get my protein and it's not too terrible. I also pack a yogurt in case the tuna isn't enough but it typically is. I also bring a bottle of Isopure to work every day to sip on. That's the only way I'd hit my 60 grams of protein/day goal.
There really isn't much variety in my diet yet. I like hummus too, and canned chicken isn't bad either.
Take care!

I found that I could not eat tuna, but I do bring egg salad. It's high in protein and I allow myself a few crackers to go with it. For snack I eat a Atkins caramel chocolate protein bar. It tastes great and it satisfies my afternoon sweets craving.

In addition to the tuna, I added some taco seasoning to refried beans and topped it with some lf sour cream for a sort of bean dip. If you can eat more than just mushies, you could make a full bean dip and eat that.
I am a teacher so my first week back to work was filled with inservices and food frenzies. Seriously they fed us 7 times in 5 days and believe me there were no mushies. So I stuck to my tuna, bean dip, yogurt and cottage cheese!
Good luck. I found going back to work made me even less hungry and I got a good dose of will power.

I take SF Jello and SF Pudding and natural applesauce cups for snacks. Some times i take the smallest can of Bushs baked beans and cut up a turkey hotdog in it for lunch.Fills you up and stays with you really well. I also take homemade veggie soup a lot. Donna

I pack the same standard stuff everyday, and always try to pack an assortment.
-SF pudding
-yogurt
-unsweetened apple sauce (single serving cups)
-lite string cheese
I'm just starting soft foods, so I've been sticking to soup and tuna salad at lunch. I think I'll try egg salad this week for something new. YUM!
