State: Oregon | Worst food contest.... yes, April 1st is nearly upon us, and I humbly submit my entry for 'Worst Bandster Food' :faint: for this season....photo below and link for how to assemble them....just in case you have enemies or your ex- over for a knosh.....
***hot dog injected with cheeze whizz wrapped in bacon and deep fried....
...so it in fact IS pretty much what DW thought it looked like..."a fried lard turd":clap2: :clap2: :clap2:
I think my cholesterol count doubled just looking at the pictures.... http://www.thestranger.com/blog/2007/03/post_135
Other entries encouraged....as an educational tribute to the folly of our past eating career and acknowledgment of the sheer delusional denial of what healthy living REQUIRES....ie, just cause we think it tastes good we should eat it.....

| I bet they're pretty good. :)
Have you heard of the deep fat fried candy bars? Snickers, etc. dipped in a thick & sweet batter similar to pancake batter, then deep fat fried, then drizzled with chocolate, etc. and dusted with powdered sugar.

I've had the deep-fried candy bars (and deep-fried cheesecake) at a State Fair, OMG, YUMMY!!!!!! Definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I could not finish either one, total artery cloggers!
I also LOVE deep-fried pickles (haven't had one in years...hmmmmm...where's my Fry Daddy?). But interestingly enough, don't like many other fried foods. I don't care for french fries, and I pull the batter off of my onion rings. I'm a strange duck.

| Several restaurants around here are serving fried pickles as an appetizer, and a few have started offering fried green beans, too. They're better than I thought they would be (esp. considering I don't like green beans).
I still say fried cheese is the way to go. Especially when said fried cheese is enclosed in a hollow jalapeno pepper. :)

| Mmmmmm, you're making me hungry, despite the fact I just finished my low-carb, low-fat chicken tortilla with avocados and salsa and some cucumbers I just ate.
Wonder if I can pick the breading off the fried cheese? I think a trip to Arby's may be in my future-it'd be a good dinner, right?

State: CA | I've had the deep fried Twinkie and the Snickers-preband days! The Twinkie basically dissintegrated(sp?), but the Snickers was pretty good! Not sure I'd go for Spam and jello-yuck! I've never had fried pickles or green beans. I think they are doing the green beans at TGI Fridays. I'm not a fan of green beans either, but maybe they're better fried. It's time for my Lean Cuisine..............

| Isn't TGIF's also offering fried Mac-n-cheese balls as an appetizer?

| Here'a worthy offering - Don't know if the pic will show Homer Simpson would love the newest taste sensation in minor league baseball: the doughnut burger.
Gateway Grizzlies
Head to a Gateway Grizzlies game and this gut-buster could be yours.
We kid you not. The Gateway Grizzlies of the Frontier League promised to create "Baseball's Best Burger" in time for the team's opener in late May. And they appear to have succeeded.
The ballpark sandwich will include a hamburger topped with sharp cheddar cheese and two slices of bacon -- all between a "bun" made of a sliced Krispy Kreme Original Glazed doughnut. If you can find a (loop)hole in your cardiologist's advice, calorie counters predict the monster will set you back about 1,000 calories and 45 grams of fat.

| I thought DH and I were the only ones in the WORLD who didn't like Krispy Kreme's. I've only been able to tolerate one when it was very warm and fresh, and even then...

| They are just too sweet, too much of that glaze on them, and too airy.

| Actually, I love Krispy Kremes. In fact, I still have my Krispy Krem intravenous unit set up in the garage. On a good day, I used to pump about a dozen per hour right into the old circulatory system. I figured that way I could drink less coffee. Trying to cut back on the caffeine, I'm sure you understand.
