I still remember. 1 week prior to my 2 day pre-op of liquids....I went to every fast food place. Then the day before I went to a buffet for breakfast, then one for lunch, and then one for supper.
And while on my pre-op liquid diet I had hot chocolate, pumpkin soup - tasted like dessert, and froot loops (just tipping the bowl to drink the milk)
What a difference the band makes! My relationship with food is so different now.

My last meal was actually on Christmas Day and you know how Holiday meals go! I should actually call it a last "graze" because I ate all day long! For breakfast we made fried bread! UGHHH can you imagine fried bread slathered in syrup! Then the appetizers started. Shrimp cocktail, lil smokies with bbq sauce, bacon wrapped water chestnuts, cheese dips with chips. Cookies galore! I love Christmas cookies. For dinner, prime rib, mashed potatoes with gravy, creamed corn, rolls with butter. OH, and dont forget dessert.... cheesecake covered with cherries! No wonder I got so fat. Now I dont eat that many caloires in a week! How embarassing to admit

That is so true, GraceUtah. My notion of food and what it's for has really changed.
I still like food and I love to cook. Last night for dinner we have skinless, boneless chicken thighs baked in orange sauce and broccoli.
My "last meal" lasted about two weeks. It's embarressing to even think about, let alone type about.

I ate a lot of the things I thought I would have trouble with after I got my band.
So half a large Pizza
A Big Steak dinner from Outback
and
A dinner at my favorite italian restaurant (they serve those little rolls covered in garlic, butter and olive oil)
That was over a 3 day period of course. I had it all planned out!
Now finally after my 4th fill I can't eat that stuff. I thought it would happen sooner, but I'm not angry!

I remember mine very well.......my husband said to me, since you will be very restricted on what you can eat soon why dont you pick out all your favorite restaurants and we will go there Saturday and Sunday nights for nice dinners. So we did this for a month prior to my surgery date. MY god what a food fest. <shakes head>

I felt like a prisoner on death row that had to pick one final meal. I chose steak from Outback, since I did not know how long (if ever) it would be till I could eat steak again.

I didn't binge persay, but my last 'meals' were carefully thought out.
My doc requires a 2 week liquid diet pre op. The first week consisting of protein shakes for 2 meals and one regular meal and the 2nd week, completely liquid. I am on my 6th day of the first week. (My surgery day is May 12). This week, I have kept it pretty lite. Its so hard to go from 'mud' shakes to a heavy meal. But for my last 'normal' week of eating, my mother was good enough to plan out my favorite dinners & invite me out. One day, we had chicken fried steak & gravy (not much breading though), another day we had 'all you can eat' shrimp cocktail, and another day we had chicken and dumplings (my FAV). I also made time to fit in my fav chinesse, mexican, italian, pizza, and sushi places that week. I don't feel like I pigged out at any of them though. (I've been working for months to change my additude towards food and I really think it has been working) My friends did throw me a 'fat' party. My best friend gathered alot of our other friends, rented a limo, and got us VIP service at our favorite bar. Those were my last drinks....
I am happy to say that I have already been able to move my steering wheel closer to me in the car and I have already gone down a pant size! If I'm already having these results BEFORE surgery, I can only imagine what it will be like after!

LOL -- I saw the title and I thought -- why, dinner last night was fabulous, thanks! My DH makes the greatest spicy meatloaf in the universe.
But my last pre-op stuff-fest was probably my trip to one of those mongolian grill places. You know, the stir-fry buffet where you load up your bowls with meat, veggies and noodles, create your own sauce, and they fry it on the big grill in front of you?
I still love stir fry -- I just can't eat huge piles of it anymore. My body says, "thank heaven, relief at last!"
