Smile Water

Hey guys!! Got a question? I am 9 days out and having a horrible time getting all my water in every day. I wasnt told to only drink a little bit at a time..i'm assuming i need my 8 glasses a day...plus i'm not a big fan of crystal light...so i'm drinking decaf tea, sugar free hot chocolate, and regular water. Anyone have any other suggestions? Is my problem getting it in normal even though I am hungry but cant seem to get the water in?

Thanks everyone!!

katie

Hi katie

Fill up a gallon container and make it your goal to drink it all in one day. It works well for me. When I pour each individual glass from the gallon I add some sliced lemon ( 2 wedges squeezed) and 1 pack of equal it tastes just like lemonade and It is easier to get my water in for the day. If I finish my gallon I know then for sure I got all of my water in and then some. Water has helped me to be very successful in my weight loss.Give it a try! It may help

You might try Crystal Light or Minute Maid now has a Light Juice Drink with only 10 calories, Propel water is very good, Fruit 2o is good. Anything to get in your water. It's really one of the MOST important aspects of being banded.

I often use Nectar Whey Protein mixed with my water just to be sure I get the protein I need.

Try Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice Lite, mixed 50/50 w/ water and kept chilled in frig. It gives you a nice flavor change and is cheap. You can also mix that above mixture w/decaffinated tea for a second variety. Cut some gatorade w/water, makes it not so overly sweet and less calories, too.:)

Thanks guys!! Those are really good suggestions, I knew I came to the right place to ask my question! Wow a gallon seems like a ton!! I think yesterday I got 60oz in but i'm so bad at math I dont know what that equates to, surely it can't be a gallon. Is anyone smarter than me out there that can let me know? LoL! I drink other things during the day to mix it up a bit, I have the occasional glass of milk for protein and some juice just because it's good :D !So overall I think I'm doing ok...yeah??

Oh btw, my scale made me happy today! I have been feeling a little discouraged because it hasn't moved (but I guess holding steady should be a good thing) but today is my day to weigh and I've lost another 4 lbs!!!!!! I am still on liquids (thank god for tomato soup!) but any loss is a bit of an emotional boost for me!!

Thanks for listening to me ramble!!

katie

Katie I do not know what grocery stores you have in your area..but Albertsons & Stater Bros. have made their own brand of flavored water it is very similiar to crystal light has no calories, no sugar and it comes in a big 1/2 liter bottle. Flavors like cherry limeade..strawberry kiwi, lemonade, peach citrus..I drink these often too when I need a change of tast from water.

I bought a small chopper and blend my juices and slimfast protein shakes etc with lots of chopped ice to help get more water in, but when it comes to water, we really need more of it to be just water.

I know there's water in a lot of these other things, like crystal lite, tea, icey shakes etc... but think of it this way, yeah there's water in it, but would you wash in it?

Sometimes our innerds need a bath too.

60oz is so close to what you need that I wouldn't be too worried about it. You are supposed to have 8 cups a day, which is 64 oz which I'm pretty sure is exactly a gallon. I'm really bad about my water. I've been doing tea alot lately, but I know I'm still not getting enough in. I'm drinking WAY more water than I used to, so it is a good improvement, but still not where I am supposed to be. And I REALLY need to start walking. I do a little bit here and there, walk to the mailbox instead of driving to the post office, take the long way around the block to it, things like that, but it's not enough. I know that if I start walking I'll be off this plateau, but it's hard. I keep telling my boyfriend we are going to walk at night and we keep not doing it. damn lack of motivation...

Anyway, Katie, be much happy for your 'nother 4 lbs dropped, but keep in mind that the liquid/mushy food stage isn't about losing weight. It's all about healing your tummy.

:)

FYI:
64 oz is 2 quarts (1/2 gal.)
128 oz is one gallon

Thanks Pam for the correct numbers...Marimaru I guess your right..any water i'm getting in is better than the NO glasses a day I was drinking before. I can tell a big difference with the scale when I am drinking my water so that keeps me motivated!!

Thanks for all the suggestions and ideas!

Katie
