veggie skins?

I was noticing alot of these mushy stage recipies have beans in the soups or onions. I would think the skin from the beans wouldnt do well even with chewing. Also the onion tends to be pretty fiberous. I had a tomatoe bisque and because of the tiny pieces of tomatoe I was afraid of the skin getting stuck so I would spit them out. It also had tiny bits of basil chopped. What about seasonings? I mean besides s&p. Or am I being too paranoid? I havent had a fill and am going on 15 days post op.

I too was paranoid for the first year....and I believe it served me well to be such.

As you gain experience you will find a level of realistic comfort. I do eat things now I feared at first. Stay vigilant!!

cheers

I am almost six weeks out an eat chili and refried beans with no problem. Tomatoes are OK along with small well chewed salad with onions. I have pretty good restriction. I got my first fill last week and am very happy. Good luck. Everyone is individual in how they can handle certain foods. I can have small amounts of bread and rice isn't a problem either. SS

Only way to know is if you try to eat them.

For a long time, I had no problem with asparagus which was one of the specific taboo veggies on my doc's list. But in the past month or so I have somethin weird happen. I eat the asparagus, and after each piece, I spit up the fiberous part. Only the fiberous part. It's like the rest went down, but these pieces wouldn't. And it doesn't make me slime or hurt, I just burp up strings.

Oh FF, I just got a mental image of you pulling strings out of your mouth like a clown pulling handkerchiefs, or a dental floss dispenser.

It's a sickness I have, really it is. My mind just works in such a bizarre way.
