I have read on this and other boards that some can tolerate the rice, some cannot. It totally depends. Many have said that one piece would be three or four bites now, versus the one bite it was pre-band.

A good suggestion many have is to order sashimi instead (no rice) and most people say they have been able to tolerate that.

I'm just going to buy a set and make it myself.

mmmm...

Sushi! I hope I can get back to eating that someday. In much smaller portions of course.

For the most part, I have no problem with sushi or sashimi. If I get a roll, which I rarely do, I order a salmon avocado roll inside out. Most of the time I get the salmon sashimi flower. It's the perfect portion, sliced thin and easy to handle.

There is one restaurant that I go to and the food is really good. Unfortuntaly, I PBd the salmon sashimi the last 2 times i had it. So, I'd say it's a trial and error thing. You'll find out what workds best for you.

for the record, when i did this i had not had any fill!
but... about a month post op i went out and had sushi with a friend of mine and it was AMAZING. I cut the pieces up with a sharp knife and no one said ANYTHING. I enjoyed it TREMENDOUSLY.
later, when i get a fill it might be different, but i loved this.
high protien, low carb yumminess!

sushi lover

Oh my god! I hope I can still eat it. I have it at least once a week and almost can't live without it. I love salmon and cream cheese roll with tempura shrimp on the inside.

Same here! I hope I can eat this again. In fact I'm planning on eating it between the time I'm on solids and my first fill. Just in case! :)

I have no probs at all eating sushi. As some one else said, its nibbles of it now rather than gobbling the whole piece in one go, and I eat it slowly and with plenty of soy sauce, but its fine for me.
