| Regular Coffee
I'm three weeks after banding. Has anyone had any problems drinking regular coffee? I Usually only drank a cup or two in the morning before surgery. I switched to decaf but would like to switch back? My doctors office suggested waiting three months? Please advise if anyone has had any issues.

Coffee was on my list of clear liquids that I could drink right away. They even gave it to me in the hospital (yes regular coffee).
Enjoy !!

I personally prefered herbal tea for about the first 2 or 3 weeks, but returned to regular coffee well before my mushie phase.
To me, regular coffee is black as night, hot as possible in a ceramic mug....nursed carefully over my first hour up, while I'm taking in the early glories of the day as dawn rolls in like thunder, in China 'cross the bay....etc....
It is often comforting to sit with the mug directly over the port as the small amount of heat adds to my sense of well being for the morning, even when I have no particular aches or pains.....
And REGULAR COFFEE is not a confection....

I had coffee the day after surgery without any problems. The only thing I noticed was that my regular size cup (12 oz) filled me up. I used an eight ounce cup until yesterday (post-op day 9) and now tolerate the regular size. Enjoy YOUR coffee!

I have never been told I couldn't drink COFFEE....However I was told to drop the regular sugar and creams in my coffee because of the extra fat and calories. I now only use Splenda and 2% milk in my coffee! I couldn't start my day with out coffee. It is what gets me going in the mornings!!!

A life without coffee would be no life at all! Caffeine is my drug of choice.
Cheers!

I gave up caffeine prior to surgery, and I do think no caffeine helps with dieting (no yo yo metabolism). That having been said, I lasted about a month and switched back to having AM coffee with no problems. I love it!

I have had coffee since day 2 of post op.
No problems. I use equal and fatfree half and half in mine.
Couldn't start the day without it

I was told no coffee, no caffeine! I guess it's a good thing I don't drink coffee.
