Re: NEw to this Forum

My vitamin requirements are similar to those of bandsters:

2x adult dose of a complete multi-vitamin, 1 dose in AM, 1 in PM
1500 mg of calcium citrate in 500mg doses 3x a day.

Then, since my calcium citrate doesn't have Vitamin D in it, I also take 1 Vitamin D tablet (700 IU) along with the Calcium to help it absorb better.

I also was taking something for Hair, Skin & Nails to help with hair loss -- this tends to happen around the 3 month mark. But right now I'm too early out to swallow it easily (even crushed) so I've stopped taking it for a while.

Re: NEw to this Forum

Hi,
I was just told to take a multivitamin... these were the suggestions:
A Gummie vitamin (childrens) double the dose
A Chewable Adult vitamin (single dose)
After price checking at wally werld i chose the Centrum Chewables (orange flavor) and take one each morning. I feel like a kid chewing them up! :)

Re: NEw to this Forum

Be sure to read the labels. Most gummy vitamins do *not* have enough of various ingredients. Chewables and liquids tend to have less "stuff" than pills you swallow because there are a few minerals and vitamins that just can't be made to taste okay. But in the early days, most of us can't choke down a big vitamin. Centrum, in general, has decent vitamins. I'm on Centrum Chewables, myself, but want to move to the pills when I can.

If you are a woman, you need more calcium. Okay, I can't guarantee that, but I think there is a 90% chance, you need more. When you get your labs done, be sure the don't just check serum calcium, but also Vit. D and PTH. If PTH is high and Vit. D is low, then you need more calcium.
