Need more fiber

Help. I am in the mushy phase and I need more fiber in my diet. Can I use beneful or fibercon chewable type fiber tablets? I also have been having trouble getting all eight glasses of water a day (yes, I know this would help). Any ideas on fiber rich food that I can have?

Refried beans have been my best friend this last week, but all I get is gas. The guy at TacoBell thinks I'm addicted to those things, I expect him to say, "you again", anyday. Humm creamed spinach, I've got some creamed spinach and artichoke dip, yum.

Yes, benefiber is good. It dissolves, easily digested. Have you tried prune juice or warm apple juice? A little does the trick. Once you get to regular foods, you can add prunes (different flavors), snack on some dry frosted mini wheats cereal pieces.

Well. I guess it's official. I am getting old. I now qualify for the 'Silvercare' Life Insurance plan and I have broken down and bought Prunes snack packs for regularity. Bring on the walking cane!!

LMAO... Leatha, dont worry, I dont think that its an age issue - I think its more of a woman issue! Seems like after childbirth and/or turning 30, that department never work right again.

Ever notice that men seldom have this problem???

It gets better, Leatha! You still have hearing aids and teeth in a jar to look forward to. Then there's hip and knee replacements. But you'll eventually get that AARP discount at Dennys! LOL

Yes. :( can we say 'rectocele'? I think there is another surgery on my horizon. In the meantime, maybe I can hold it off awhile with my friends the prunes and mini wheat cereal. Ugh...
