My Favourite Lunch

I take a 6 oz. can of Ham
Flake it with a fork
Mix in: Chopped sweet pickle or relish if you have it on hand
1 Tbspn Low Fat Hellmans Mayo

Then I just eat 1/2 of it with a fork for lunch, sometimes I'll follow 1/2 hour later with glass of V-8 juice...

YUMMY and EASY

The canned chicken is new to me, and right now my fav. food mixed like you just listed.

Laura...

What brand of canned chicken do you use? The stuff I have tried is nasty! It's like weird little twigs, gross.

That does sound gross.. I get 3 different brands.. big cans from Sam's (I don't know the brand), some normal size cans from Wal-greens (don't know the brand), and then smaller 6oz cans from a grocery store are Swansons.
One of the brands from wal-green boasts the protein content on the front. And they're all white meat, I haven't been able to find the supposedly mixed dark & white meat cans.
The meat looks/smells JUST LIKE tuna. So you have to flake it.. but it tastes better than tuna :)

I'll look up the other 2 brands when I get home. I haven't tried the swansons yet, the other 2 are the ones I love, but the swansons looks like the others.
I also bought canned turkey the other day, haven't tried it yet but I plan to mix a little cranberry sauce and see how that is.
I was afraid canned meats before, but this chicken stuff rocks my socks!

I discovered I like the canned chicken too!

I buy the generic brand at Wal Mart or Swanson's from the groc store. They both taste the same to me but the brand from Wal Mart has (in a 2oz serving) 10 calories more but 1 gram more of protein.

It does smell like tuna when you open the can and drain it but not fishy when you eat it.

Tofu is still sounding better. I just need to practice with the stuff.

I can't chew meat to a paste/liquid, it's just gross. By the time it's ready to go down I'm gagging.

I always just mix it with a little miracle whip light and relish and eat it with a fork or crackers. I have either canned tuna or chicken 3 out of 5 days days a week for lunh...it is the quickest and easiest to pack on the way out the door. My classroom always smells like tuna!
