Mushie stage: Crackers & Toast Yes or No

The list of recommended foods (for the mushies stage) that I got from my doctor includes crackers and toast. I'm at 3 weeks post surgery and I've not had a problem with anything I've eaten so far. My family and I are going to an amusement tomorrow. I need your advice on the cracker thing. Has anyone had problems with crackers or toast during their mushies stage? Please advise!!Click the image to open in full size.

Honestly, I did not think crackers or toast were mushy foods. It was not on my list of mushies, if it is on your list and you Dr. says OK to it then Iam sure it will be OK

Worth a try, the crunchier the better. I'd think that toast might still be a bit too chewy, try a cracker and see how it does, but I have been fine eating tostitos with guacamole in my mushie phase. They are thinner and crunchier, and easier to chew to bits. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. I'll try & I'll make sure I chew and chew.

I too was surprised because I didn't think I'd be able to eat bread, chips, crackers and such anymore. I thought it would clog the band opening. Please let me know what's been your experience with those as well.

Talking Yes to crackers!

Pam,

I have had no problem with either saltine or Ritz crackers. Try them the evening before you are set to go so that you know what you will need to be energized enough to get through the day in a happy, energetic way (at least as much as possible)

saltines work fine for me. I had a few of those little goldfish things last week....not so good....

I managed a few boxes of tricuits about week 8-12, but had the worst PB and don't ever expect to taste them again....

the Holy Shredded Wheat with Bran works very good for me. Go Figure....

I have about 1 piece of toast every few weeks....just ain't that interesting anymore...

whatever it is....barely nibble nibble nibble...wait, chew....go slowly....chew some more....tiny tiny nibbles....

good luck
