Medifast diet

Has anyone ever tried Medi-fast products? I purchased a sampler pack of their products to try them out, and have tried oneof hte bars which was palatable, and the chicken noodle soup (I will never eat that again).

I have a few more samples but the chicken noodle soup has kinda made me re-think my trying them.

What was your experience with them?

I could not stand any of the "food" - i'm happier with a protein shake and small dinner a day then i was on medifast - good you tried a sampler - it can get expensive! ebay has some deals but it was wasted money for me.

I tried it and I don't mind it at all. The Caramel Nut bar is the best. I like the hot cocoa and chai latte because I have trouble with solids in the morning and the warm beverage help me get my protein in and loosen up my band. The oatmeal isn't bad. I've never been an oatmeal lover, but when I was strict on liquids, it was nice to have "food". The Orange creme shake mixed with Orange sunrise Crystal Light tasted good to me too. I guess it all depends on your taste buds.

The bar that I tried was the carmel nut bar. And thats what prompted me to want to try the soup. I guess I will try the shakes they sent me to see what they are like.

Did anyone try the pudding or chili?

I've tried the pudding, not the chili. The pudding is not that great, but much better well chilled. I've have the chocolate and vanilla-chocolate is the better of the 2 IMHO.

I could not eat the "food" part of the medifast, it was all just so terrible and I nearly vomited the chili. YUCK! The pudding, shakes and bars arent too terrible and the bars are great on the protein part, but other than that, I see why people lose weight eating that food, cuz they just dont eat it at all.lol What a total waste of money. You were smart in getting just a sample pack, I went all out and got the whole package and all of it is sitting in a box in my dinning room where it has been for about the last 6 months or so. I just cant bring myself to touch it. Although, I was thinking about eating the bars for the protein but Honestly, I wouldnt feed the Meals to my dog.

I like the shakes, puddings, oatmeal and the chicken noodle soup. I have to doctor the soup up a bit but I do like it. The real secret to Medifast is using very cold water to mix the products with. Even if you microwave it (hot chocolate, chai latte) use very cold water to mix it first.

Also, it helps alot if you let things sit awhile. The shakes and puddings set up much better if you put them in the frig for an hour or so. The soup tastes better if you let it soak for awhile before heating it.

They have a message board on their website that offers lots of good tips on how to make the "meals" more palatable. If nothing else, it's a good source of protein if I don't have time to get in a regular meal.

I really like the fruit drinks, cappucino, chai latte, hot chocolate, puddings, and the cream soups (tomato, cream of chicken, and cream of broccoli). I use them lots when I need a protein boost. They are very low cal/fat. I don't care for the bars, shakes, chunky soups.
