Here are some of my recipes:
Morning Protein shake
1 scoop of vanilla protein
1 tbsp. of flax seed meal
frozen fruit
milk
one packet of splenda
Mix in blender . i tastes like a yummy smoothie.
Greek salad
lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers, onions(optional), olives, feta cheese, vinegar, olive oil, and oregano. If you don't like feta cheese, just use any other of your choice. You can also sprinkle parmesan cheese on the salad, if you want.
Morrocan Fish(Salmon):
Spray with oil spray on a tray. Lay the Salmon on the tray and put sliced tomato, sliced green pepper, garlic, carrots, sliced onion, olive oil, oregano, basil, sage, lemon , and s+p. Put a little water on it, cover with alum. foil and in the oven for 30min/350 degrees.
Spinach with tomatoes and cheese
In a pan, put eggs, a can of crushed tomato, canned spinach, lots of cheese,s+p, adobo ,garlic, onion. It will be round like a Spanish tortilla, delicious!
Home made hummus:
A can of chickpeas, a little bit of olive oil, cumin, lemon,s+p garlic , sesame seeds. Put it all in the blender. yummy!
Tilapia:
Put the Tilapia on a sprayed pan , put crushed tomatoes on it ,oregano, thyme,s+p, lemon, olive oil, garlic, onion,a little water ,cover and put in oven for 30 min. and voila!
I'll send more if you like these.

This is a good idea and if one person would put them together they can be uploaded to a site like Lulu.com - Self Publishing - Free and turned into a book. The advantage of doing it through an online service like LuLu is each of us could go there and buy our own book from LuLu. We would not have to fork out any money up front.

UPDATE: I've only received one recipe via email, so at this point it's going to be a very short book!
Remember, these don't have to be LAP-BAND ® specific recipes, just anything you make and love! (and can eat - we don't really want a whole book of chicken recipes or anything!)
Once I get it compiled, you'll have your choice between a pdf (FREE) or a bound book (price TBD), so you really have nothing to lose and a great book to gain!
Get those recipes to lbtrecipes@gmail.com ! :)

Jaunderwood - Look, we have almost the same signature/pics - What a hoot!

Angie,
Have you posted your idea in the recipes section? Any other place? I know others would be interested, probably lots of people would be.

Hi, I'm set for banding on March 5th and already researching what I can eat?! I would definitely love a Bandster cookbook. I am not great in the kitchen so experimenting almost always ends with a call to Dominoes--I know, not with a band it won't! I will keep checking this thread to see how it progresses--but count me in, I'll buy the book.

Bumping this up because quite a few recipes have started rolling in, so I think at the very least we will be able to get a PDF file out - which would be FREE!
Remember, these don't necessarily have to be LAP-BAND® specific recipes, although healthy would be good, and not so much bread. :)

City: Moulton State: Alabama | Recipes alaverde@charter.net Mexican Cobbler
12 flour tortillas
1 can apple pie filling - no sugar added(or any other flavor you like - Cherry is also very good)
1 stick oleo or butter
1 1/2 cup sugar (I used Splenda for baking blend)
1 tsp vanilla
Cinnamon
Mash apples in pie filling. Fill each tortilla with fruit filling and roll. Place in pan with rolled end down. In a saucepan place butter and melt then add vanilla and sugar (splenda for baking). Pour over tortillas and then sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake 30 minutes at 350 . Serve warm with whipped cream or sugar free/low fat ice cream. BABY FOOD POUND CAKE INGREDIENTS - 1 (18.25 ounce) package moist yellow cake mix (I use Pillsbury 1/2 sugar brand)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (SPLENDA)
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 4 eggs
- 2 (4 oz) jars any fruit flavor baby food
DIRECTIONS - Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour one 9 or 10 inch Bundt pan.
- Combine the cake mix, brown sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, baby food. Mix for 2 minutes. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 1 hour. Wonderful with a light dusting of confectioner's sugar or with an almond frosting.

I would love to get a cookbook!!
I won't be banded until tomorrow, though.
I'll keep in touch.
I thought about going online and see what comes up for "recipes for LAP-BAND® patients"...
If I find some good recipes, I will e-mail them to you!
