I'm not losing weight!!

I know in regular dieting you reach plateaus - is that the same for the LAP-BAND® and how long does it last?? I've done good up to about a week ago and now no matter what I eat or how much I exercise, I can't lose anything!! I'm getting very frustrated and I'm only 5 weeks post-op. Anyone have any helpful ideas??

...I've been on a 'plateau' for 9 months now.....

Frustration is for amateurs.....Bandsters just find new ways to measure their progress...

Scales lie...check your measurements, check your wardrobe fit....check your NSVs to see whether you can do ANYTHING that demonstrates some kind of Great Leap Ahead....

one of my own earliest 'frustrated' but still NSVs, was when I suddenly noticed some band of carpenter leprechauns had scurried ahead of me and rebuilt the restaurant booths so I could fit in them~~FINALLY after NEVER fitting in them....EVER....

You will see NSVs every day once you don't focus on just the scales....

Actually, since you have minimal restriction, with no (or maybe one) fill, you have lost a lot of weight in 5 weeks. Generally good weight loss is considered 2 lbs per week when you have good restriction.

I agree with Natliec. Your band isn't working until you start getting fills. You are in the healing stage right now.

There were times the scale didn't move for me, but the inches did. Make sure you take your measurements so you can check that too!

I know you won't believe this, right now. Time will prove us experienced bandsters true, though...
Scales lie. Period.
I have had plateaus that lasted longer than I wanted...months sometimes. Still, during that time, my measurements changed, my sizes changed. I promise I am not making this up.
Just today, after being at this same weight for at least 6 weeks or so, a t-shirt that did not fit me before, fits like a dream. No change in the scales, but a change in the body.
Try not to become very impatient...you are doing really great!
