Slimfast has lots of fiber, so it might make your belly rumbly. But my regular protein shakes make me very rumbly. I haven't had one in 2 weeks. I drank 1/2 of mine this morning, and my belly is loaded with gas. Too much info? Nope, nothing is sacred once you get a lap band!

Thanks everyone for the information! It helps a lot! So, my 60-90 grams of protein per day is enough?

My doctor recommended 55-60, but check with your nutritionalist because I have memory problems! So if you're able to get that much in without protein shakes, then you don't need the shakes.

I think I'm giving up shakes because La Madam told me about some milk-type product (already forgot the name) that's loaded with protein. So I can just pour a glass of it instead of getting the blender out... now if I can only remember what she called it, something like Hood???? It's in the mild section of the grocery store and is loaded with protein. I gotta find it! I gave up the protein shakes and have just been having a glass of skim milk before I leave in the morn. Much easier.

There really is no need to go much higher than 60. In fact, in some cases too much protein can harm your kidneys and your body can only assimilate so much at a time. If your doc said 50-60, I'd stick close to that. More is not always better.

Leatha, thanks... like I said, lapse of memory. But my doc said 55-60 grams.
