How hungry do you feel each day?

I am new; planning on surgery within 2 months. How hungry do you feel once you are after 3 months out? Does the surgery diminush hunger, or do you feel hungrier than ever with 1200 or less calories?

It changes depending on where you are in the healing process and whether or not you have found your sweetspot with the fills. At the moment for me (I'm just over 5 months out and had a fill 5 days ago), the hunger is almost non-existant. The week before my fill, I was starting to get quite hungry between meals again. Most of the time, the band is keeping its promise to me and is definitely controlling the hunger - the degree of that control does change with fill levels, but it has never been the uncontrollable urge that it was before banding.

It diminishes hunger. I get physically hungry but I could never have survived on what I eat now and that's generous - I still eat about 1500 to 1800 calories most days.

My own Hunger has gone from being present nearly 100% of the time night and day, to being present mostly only before mealtime.

And the intensity has gone from "Tsunami" or "Richter Scale 10" to barely noticable most of the time.

In other words, for the first time in my life, I believe I have an "ALMOST" Normo hunger drive.

It's a wonderful place. And it gives a LOT of extra time to do other stuff, than sit in a fast food lane waiting for another bag o'cheeseburgerblintzes,

I was banded 5 months ago tomorrow.

I was absoutely addicted to food before the surgery. I am almost never hungry. I never think about food anymore...its a necessity now. I eat 4-5 small meals a day (like 1/8 cup each meal.)

Good luck!

I'm never really hungry, but today I made an interesting decision.

At the bakery in the grocery store they were handing out freshly baked cookies. I turned it down cause I wouldn't have room for my crab salad if I ate a cookie. That's gotta be a big first for me.
