Thumbs up

Are you on clear liquids or full liquids? Clear liquids are like broth, jello, teas, gatorade, crystal light. Full liquids are like v-8 low sodium (feels filling), pudding, yogurt, cream soups (no chunks). How long will you be on liquids? Just try to take it one day at a time. Let your body heal properly and you'll be able to enjoy foods when the proper time comes. Please follow your dr's orders. Try to find non-related things to do to keep you from thinking about foods. Any hobbies, nice long shower, do your nails, fix your hair, etc. Don't watch t.v., too many food commercials! Is your dr. local? How much weight would you like to lose? You can do this! It's worth it.

There are some great tasting protein drinks out there. I drank the Atkins Advantage in a can ( chocolate) They tasted just like chocolate milk and they were just easy for my lifestyle....also Hoods Carb Countdown in your grocers dairy case is loaded with protein ( chocolate) it fills you up & tastes great
Just keep telling yourself this liquid phase is so worth it in the big picture especially when you start seeing results.
Blended soups ( no chunks) worked well for me. Are you full liquids or clear liquids right now? Liquid yogurt worked great too, popsicles & jello made me think Iwas eating instead of just drinking. You will get through this..we all did!

Julie - You might want to check with your doctors office and make sure you can't do full liquids after that first week of clears.

Julie, the first 2 weeks are rather 'easy' to have liquids. Its week 3 thats it starts getting hard. Thats when you really have to apply the suggestions that Marie posted earlier. What makes it so hard is not having textured foods (things you chew)... so thats when the popsickle idea and creamed soups helped. Another idea was to eat cushed ice, it gives the mouth something to do.
:)

God bless you on your new journey!
