Help! Thick liquid stage...

Hello to everyone that lived through the first two weeks of liquids. This first week has been really hard. I was very hungry by day three and then I have been really feeling weak. I am drinking protein shake and doing the broth thing. I am hungry. Tomorrow I get to start cream soups, tomato soup, etc. I would like as many ideas as possible as I am really bored with soup. The Dr. said I could eat it if I could get it through a straw. I am most positive this does not include milkshakes! ha I have been losing weight for which I am most grateful but right now I would kill for Mexican food and chips and salsa. I am tempted to make queso and eat it with a spoon! I really didn't think I would be this hungry this soon. I am determined to stick this out and do the best I can. I am self paid and I want to get the most for my money! So please send all the yummy ideas you might have. I am not sure cream of chicken soup sounds that appetizing right now.

Just throw anything you want into your blender, magic bullet or food processer Thin it down if you have to. It should be thin enough to run slowly off the spoon.

I got pretty creative with the soups by the end of it, including butternut squash soup and pea and pesto soup. Yogurt smoothies are good and you can buy pre-made ones that are fat- and sugar-free/low in sugar. You can also puree just about anything in a blender or food processor, just make sure to thin it out with broth, water or juice depending on what you've got going in there.

Be careful, though. I made the mistake of pureeing some beef stroganoff sauce (no rice or noodles) and thinned it out with beef broth, but it bloated me up. I think it was too soon for meats and too salty.

You could try thinned baby food. I had the chicken and ham kinds but I didn't much care for the texture -- I found it kind of gritty. I also liked runny pudding and custards. My doc allowed me oatmeal and cream of wheat on full liquids as long as they were very watery and thin.

If you can have cottage cheese, it's wonderful mixed with salsa. Maybe mix it up and then whiz it up so it's creamy instead of chunky.

Spice up some tomato soup!

Personally, I lived on Campbell's soup at hand soups. If there were chunks in it, I whizzed it up with my stick blender.
