Cottage cheese, yogurt, soft poached eggs(again...protein) are good things too. Steam carrots put in blender with a little chicken broth, blend any chunky soup... believe me...I am into week 2 and I am getting creative! The blender is my buddy!
Good luck!

Don't tell anyone but I rather enjoyed the mushies stage after I figured out that I could eat regular food like I gave my family. All I had to do was put everything that I was serving them into the blender with a little hot water, pour it into a cup you can't see through (the color is not great) and spoon my way home. It's amazing how much like dinner it tastes when it is all mushed together.
Like tonight -- I just had a fill this morning and am told to eat soft foods for 48 hours. For dinner we had left over turkey with fat free gravy, left over mashed potatoes, left over side dish that had pineapple and cheese (it tastes way better than it sounds!), and left over cranberry sauce. Everything went into the blender, and when it ate it, I could identify each of the main ingredients.
I had one rule for DH and my kids -- NO comments allowed about what Mommy is eating. Not the color or texture.
Have fun! Get creative!
