I have a slim fast low carb or a home made smoothie with milk, ff sf yogurt, and .5 cup of all bran cereal all whipped up.

Yes, I can't do solid food for breakfast or else I pb at work...as a teacher that can be VERY frustrating & embarassing. Right now I'm having my TOM so I'm even tighter in the morning.

You poor thing I can't imagine having to get in front of a bunch of kids needing all the energy that that requires and not being able to eat breakfast. That's the most important meal of the day, it jump starts your metabolism. My favorite breakfast is the cottage cheese that comes with the fruit in a side cup. It not a lot, it's just enough, the one with pineapple is the best! I also do the carnation drink or a slim fast food replacement bar.

I'm trying protein bars-some look yummy-peanut butter/chocolate etc...
Also making smoked salmon 'roll ups'-smearing them with chive cream cheese and rolling em up to take with me to work...

I usually make mine from scratch, but I like cream of wheat with vanilla and cinnamon. You can make it with half water or milk and half vanilla slim fast. It already has some iron and protein, but I also add a little unflavored protein powder to it. Even my DH likes it!!! You can thin it out with milk and make it runnier if you're tight. It stays with you all morning too!! No hunger. If you're pressed for time, they do have instant packets in a box you can zap in the microwave.

A couple of my favorite breakfasts include an egg beater omelet - 2 eggs worth (1/2 cup) which is only 60-80 cals total. depending on whether you get the type with yolk or without, to which I add a 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese (also about 60-80 cal.) Sometimes if I feel a little hungrier I might have one of the smaller sized yogurts i currently like the activia or yo plus varieties (not as much sugar as the small ones marketed for kids)
another favorite is microwaveable cream of wheat or quaker weight control single serving oatmeals made with skim milk instead of water and sometimes I'll cook some diced apple or pear in a saute pan (my mom will even use the microwave) with a little splenda brown sugar to pour over the top.
These usually easily give me 4-5 hours of hunger relief.
good luck!

I have given up on breakfast and wait until morning tea at 10.45 and have a cheese stick that keeps me going until lunch.
I cannot no matter what I have tried keep anything down before then so I dont stress about it anymore.

My Dr. says that some people just can't handle anything in the morning because we are so dehydrated from the night. I can't even get down a few sips of tea (let along a carnation instant breakfast, yogurt or cottage cheese). I wait a few hours and then have a protein drink handy to sip on. Usually by noon I can get down a yogurt. Sounds bad but it works. I'm almost at my goal.....and my Dr. says it's not really that uncommon. Good luck.

Well, this all helps. I also am one who has not been able to eat in the morning and even sometimes at lunch. By evening I can eat a decent amount. I don't like it because it doesn't feel like I am eating healthy. I have an appointment this coming Tues and will talk to the assistant who does my fills. I hadn't heard that this could be dehydration, but that makes sense. I wonder how getting hydrated could help. I would rather to have some of the liquid taken out and eating 3 meals a day at least. I am losing but it can't be healthy??

I have the same problem in the morning. I am super tight. My dr's nurse say's it's the stomach being swollen with water from laying down all night. I dunno if that is the truth or not, but sounds good.
What I do is drink something hot in the morning first before I try to eat anything. I usually drink a cup of hot coffee on my way to work. By the time I get to work, I can usually tolerate something. Sometimes yogurt with fruit/granola in it. Sometimes 1/2 a breakfast burrito with egg beaters, mushrooms, and cheese. Sometime I can even eat a bagel (almost the whole thing!). Also, I do oatmeal quite frequently. On the weekends sometimes I will make biscuits and gravy with some egg beaters for me and my husband. I usually can only do a few bites. It really just depends.
I really like breakfast so I always try to eat something. But the key, for me, is drinking hot liquid prior to eating. It almost seems like it loosens the tightness. I would say try to drink a cup of something hot at least 45 minutes before you try to eat. Hopefully this helps.
Good luck!!!
