last night I tried to eat a little applesauce thinking it would be almost a full liquid.... oh no...I think I had my first feeling of something stuck there...it was sooo uncomfortable...I tried burping and nothing....moved around and finally was able to burp and felt a little better...it was scary, I do not want to damage the band.... :faint:
:help: Those of you who are allowed mushy food after just a few days post-op, what can you eat, and does it go down ok? I am trying to stay with a combo of clear and full iquids including some blended soups. It makes me nervous to even eat yougurt or pudding even though I have, but I do water it down a bit. is pudding a full liquid or a mushie?
Can I damage the band at this stage if my smoothie has blackberry seeds init? should I starin it?

Applesauce is a mushy. Each person can tolerate diffrent things. Be sure you are only putting a littlin your mouth, wait, , wait, wait, then if all clear take a tiny bit more. Burping is a luxury with the band early on. You will not be able to burp on command a long time.
No you can't damamge your band with the seeds in the smoothy. Just be sure to sip and wait, sip and wait. Good Luck

I would say that pudding is a mushie since it's kind of thick. My doc says a mushie is anything that has the consistancy of applesauce. I hda to ease my way into mushies while eating a lot of soup. Good luck!

I think pudding is right at the end of liquid and and going into mushy. I had pudding 4 days out from surgery. I used it to put my crushed pills in. I would only eat about 2 spoons at a time.

I had pudding, jello and yogurt from the 2nd day out. The yogurt had fruit in it but I was very careful to chew it thouroughly. Now at 6 weeks, I eat anything I want...just not much of it. :)

My doctor says it's not liquid unless you can suck it thru a straw.

In my opinion we should be careful with seeds. They can cause irritations in the intestines and esphogus. For some, like most foods, it depends on the person. I don't digest seeds well so I stay away from them.
There is liquids, clear, and then thicker liquids, like cream soups. Then mushies. Pudding and applesauce fall between thicker liquids and mushies to me. You might not be able to eat applesauce because it is cold and/or the acidity of it. You will just have to experiment with what you are able to eat. It all changes after each fill I might add. :)
