| Yes, we are warned to watch the sugar free stuff too. Not that we can't actually have it at all, but that you need to monitor yourself. Generally, artificial sweeteners are not good for you and they do affect your body.
Some sugar-free stuff, esp the candies that are sweetened with sugar alcohols, cause certain people to have diarrhea too.
Personally, I do drink Crystal Light (aspartame) and will put Sweet & Low (saccharine) in my iced tea occasionally. They don't seem to bother me in small amounts.
