It might be if you take it out of the shell. Hardy har har.

I think it can be if you put it in a blender and add sauce like mayo, cocktail sauce, cream soup, etc. A lot of crab seems to be a bit sinewy sometimes. That seems more like it would be a hard protein if you don't blend it.

What I was told was that a mushy food is something you could eat if you didn't have teeth. For me, I didn't think crab fit that, it takes some chewing for me.

I considered crab cakes a mushy, and I got by with them just fine. I also bought from Wegmans their 'seafood salad' and ran it through my Ultimate Chopper - so it was very fine. Good luck!
