I have an addiction that I need help with. Lately I have been cheating with chips and salsa. There are times I would rather eat chips and salsa than a meal. :( I have to be more strong.

So what do you need, Carrie? A boot to the butt or a big ol' hug?? Either are available as needed, here.
:]
Can you replace with some other cruncy thing like celery or other veggies and a mix of FF cream cheese and salsa? It isn't the salsa that is killing you, you know...
Just a thought.

Oh, I love chips & salsa!! We went to dinner the other night & I ate so much chips & salsa that I was completely stuffed before my real food ever came. I just make sure I don't keep the stuff around the house or I'd have a VERY BIG problem!! It goes down toooo easily!!!
My suggestion: Get rid of the chips - FAST!! That will fix your problem. :)

Run....Run far far away.
throw it out, don't buy more....grin and bear it for 2 weeks...and you'll be ok.
Join our "Chip Club" (check archives for "Who wants some chips"). You get a fancy little icon for your signature line. I just earned one for 30 days with no caffeine. Next...I'm getting away from sugar treats. You can do it, too!
Remember...this thing will only work if you work it. I learned that this week...so back on track for me this coming week!
God Bless You. Hang in there.

I would suggest having the baked chips with the salsa. Portion control it out. For the baked (tostitoes) its 22 chips = 1 portion. As far as the salsa, you can't go wrong, enjoy as much as you can. Add some broiled ckn or something to that effect and you have dinner :)
Some times I don't want dinner either and I'll snack on this. If you must have sour cream do the fat free and measure measure measure. We can eat our favorite foods we just have to be more aware of the alternatives.

I feel the same way sometimes. I don't really enjoy a real meal anymore because I have to eat so slow and it often doesn't feel that good. But chips go down so well!! |

definate chip problem/ snacking problem
well it was a cheeto problem
now its a chex mix problem (but it says 40% less fat on the bag)
too bad I can eat half a bag a night
and candy
I tried a meal FINALLY
it was meat loaf, mashed potaotes and corn (protein, veggies carb, right)
I ended up mixing it all up in every bite I took a bit of each on my spoon
I am affraid I will NEver eat the meals right!:think

...I used to be a real chip addict....grocerysack full would be a light snack....
basically I've simply lost my desire for them.....2 or 3 is plenty, maybe once a month or so....
most I've had this past year is at El Toritos...managed about a dozen or so....the salsa was great, the chips were more like cardboard...and it's not like they are actually real food....more like oddly shapes little starch discs suitable for occupying space but no longer the gourmet delight I once considered them to be....and I don't miss them....and I somehow missed on how I lost the addiction to them....
