Any other Meatball freaks here? :)

I really really love meatballs lately....I get them with tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese on top-2 will totally satisfy me...
I hope they aren't too unhealthy...usually I make homemade ones from very lean beef...
When I'm out, most places have them, so It's my number 1 'Go To' food...

me too. I found them by accident. Now they are a staple part of what I eat.

They can be super fatty but at only two, who cares? I know at least I got some food in me.

Meatloaf is another good one.

Ohh baby I love those meatballs! They are my favorite meal.

I make them with 93% lean hamburger, Italian breadcrumbs, 2 eggs, onion and green pepper. Then I use Old World Ragu sauce. Yum! Oh and put some parmesan cheese on them.

So I get meat protein, Vit b12, dairy, eggs, vegies and a bit of bread. Seems pretty balanced to me!

I only eat 2-3 at a time and they really fill me up.

This is a very good idea. I may try to make them with ground turkey.

I love them too! To avoid the issues we can have with digesting foods I began making them at home with ground turkey or chicken and simmering them in homemade sauces...that way I could control the sugar.

Oh Baby, I've never met a meatball I didn't like. I think the best meal in the whole world is a meatball sandwich with melted mozzarella cheese on top....See what you've done!! Now I won't rest until I have one.

All kidding aside, I make mine with 97/3% ground beef so that help somewhat. I also bake mine for about 20 minutes before adding them to the sauce to get rid of any excess oil. Use a little jarred sauce, add a little romano cheese and you're good to go. If I'm really low on protein and in a hurry, I'll pop some morningstar farms (or boca, I forget the brand) of meatballs in the microwave and they make a good quick meal and believe it or not, they do taste like real meatballs but much higher in protein. YUM!

I just made a fresh batch-used high quality lean beef and fennel sausage,1 egg, fresh chopped parsley and basil, one clove garlic, some dried shallots, handful of parmesean cheese, 2 hamburger buns crumbled, a little half and half and salt and pepper...baked 'em @ 50 mins @350.....
Yummy yummy yummy......these will freeze beautifully and last all week and then some...

I was banded on the 18th of June and I'm about 2-3 weeks away from enjoying my favorite meal that she makes (besides her sauce is SO GOOD I could drown in it )

That 4'8" Italian wonder has been cooking meatballs for my father-in-law for 62+ years and they both are still kicking GREAT PEOPLE (ITS THE MEATBALLS PEOPLE)

Me toooooo!!!

Totally love me some meatballs! Beef, turkey, lamb, you name it! They are my "go to" food as well. I prefer to make them myself but Trader Joes and Market Basket (a New England grocery chain) have pretty good turkey meatballs.

Plus for me it's a *little* bit of a comfort food, my mom always made them when I was growing up so I use her recipe. Not bad for a practically 100% Irish lady!

Viva le meatballs!!
