OK. You're almost at the half way mark. My advise is to find something to keep you ocuppied, read, garden, walk, shop, work out, paint, clean. Anything to stay on track.

YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stay focused on your goals. Good Luck!

Water load, drink lots of hot non-caloric beverages inbetween meals. Can you have sugar-free jello? Try drinking that as a hot liquid - it really stays with you.

I found the Lipton green tea pretty filling. You can do it, you can do it!

I found the pre op diet the hardest part of my surgery and post band life!!!!. It was not required by my doctor, but I chose to do it because our follow up doctor recommends them and I was really concerned about making sure I could recover quickly!!!

I used a GNC protein drink properformanace 95 ( all soy protein) and skim milk with it and a little fruit, plus the jellow and the tea stuff 10 days 13 lbs and all ready for one last little meal in Mexico and it has been great since then!!!

first fill 2.6 ml 9/04
fill totally removed 12/16/05 (and didn't gain a pound over holidays!!!- but oh those winter duldrums!!)
current fill 1.8 ml to regain a little control!

I made it!

re: "pre-op diet killing me".....not exactly....

1) however you may think you feel, you are NOT starving to death...

2) if you are like the rest of us, it's NOT the 'pre-op diet' but our diets of the last several decades that's killing us....

3) some of us have had rather emotional responses to the false notion we are 'giving up food'....

4) if you are like the majority of us, what it takes to satisfy both that inner 'third stomach' (if you have a philosophical humor) and your eating habit will simply change...

cheers and welcome to your journey into BandLand...

Remember- Eat to Live , don't Live to Eat. If your simply dying than ask the Doctor if you can have one pickle. They are usually a free food. You can do this. Just think of all those "Bonus" pounds your losing! Good Job- Stay with it!!

Mcleods pre op diet

What is the Mcleods pre op diet? From what I understand, my surgeon doesn't require one but if it will make post op easier, I want to do it. Thanks.

Yuck! Yuck! Ick! ugh! I just started my pre-op diet yesterday. My surgeon makes you buy their stuff they sell. It's Myocel. Can we say...NASTY! LOL I was sooo hungry by dinner time last night. I made a "test shake" Tuesday night after my pre-op appointment and blah!!! I called the nurse @ my Dr's office and she gave me some ideas of things I can add into my Chocolate myocel- coffe flavors, sugar free chocolate pudding mix (not the whole package I'm sure, just to add a little flavor), bananas, strawberries, sugar free jello.... So I'm going to try a few strawberries and maybe 1/2 a banana today and hope for the best.
