Vitamins & hair loss

I stopped taking my vitamins a little while ago as I found it hard finding chewable vitamins. I was originally told to have mulitvitamins and minerals and a calcium supplement. As a result I stopped and have noticed my hair has started to fall out again. Can anyone tell me what vitamins they take and whether I should just get good quality vitamins like

Sanatogen a - z gold
and
Osteocare calcium tablets

and cut them in half and swallow them or take the not so good chewable ones. Does it take a long time to digest the tablets if I swallow them?

Please help!

I was told that lack of protein or not enough is what causes the hair to fall out, but like you I slacked off on the vitamins and calcium and now my hair is coming out....so, upping the protein and back on the vitamins and minerals.

Hi
My hair fell out when i had my band but it was due to the mrsa. Now I have had the rny and its faling out again!.
The hospitol recomend the Bertie Bassett chewable multi vitamins but I am now on the Snatigen multi vits. They are like bullets. I find them very hard to swollow.
But my hiar has thickened up But it is also coming out!!!!!! Sounds crazy I no.
There is a thing calld Kosh which i have been told very good for loss of hair, bought from health shops.

prenatal vitamins

i was talking to the pharmacist about taking biotin because i heard it was good for hair/nails and skin. he told me that for it to really work well it needed to be taken with a B-complex vitamin. he then told me it was better to just take a prenatal vitamin. that it had everything i needed in it. i was going to just buy the ones you can get over the counter, but he had some behind the counter you dont need an rx for.

just a thought....

chewable vitamins

i went into town on saturday, with my pre band shopping list, on which is chewable vitamins and minerals. the one that you can swallow whole contains alot more then the chewable ones. i guess you have to get the chewable ones?
while i was writing this, the dietician phoned and said that it did have to be chewable ones, for atleast the first few months. and not to worry that they are less specific. is this the same for most people?

Hi guys i managed to find a liquid multivitamin and mineral suppliment in Boots, its orange flavoured.

Boots.com - Shop -- A-Z Multivitamins=

only £3.99 too. So far so good for me. have to have 2 spoonfuls a day for adults alot easier than trying to swollow a tablet.

Hope this helps.
