1) I actually HAVE a life now!

2) There are LOTS of things to do MORE FUN than eating ever was!!

3) I feel like I'm about 23 again....instead of celebrating the 23rd anniversary of my 39th birthday!!!

4) NO CPAP after 10 years!

5) NO Insulin injection twice daily after 15 years!!

6) NO hand ful of pills....normal blood pressure!!!

7) Each month save more on prescription meds, than a fill each month would cost;

8) Improved sleep pattern;

9) Size 42-44 pants instead of 58;

10) Eating to live instead of living to eatEatEATEATEAT;

11) The deterioration of my retinas has stabilized due to improved circulation and blood sugars, and I can STILL SEE!!! Laser surgery had saved my retinas but it was a loosing battle until my BMI went from 47.5 to 34ish....

12) There isn't a single THING about my life than isn't better than preBand....that darkness and chaos has blossomed into the life of a 'Near Normo'....for the first time I actually believe that is a GOOD thing!!!!

So happy.

I am a healthy weight, I am super fit, I love my running and I do it now for the love of it, not to lose weight. I can shop anywhere, and although I'd like to lose a tad more, I think I look pretty darn good for a mother of 3. I certainly dont feel out of place as a 40 year old student amongst a bunch of 20 year olds at uni, I can dress young, and I look and feel young.

I havent had to give up any food, I can eat out without any worries at all, the worst thing that happens to me is eating too fast or occasionally feeling compelled to clear my plate, when even one mouthfull too much can REALLY be too much. I have only vomited once in 15 months of being banded and really, it was the BEST thing I have ever done for myself! The band that is, not the vomiting, lol.

I posted a poll a while back that asked "would you do it again?" and out of 137-something respondents, 97% said YES. Most of those said YES, YES, A MILLION TIMES YES!!

You can see the comments if you go to the general discussion forum and look back about 3-4 pages.
