Today I went for chest x-ray blood work, ekg, urine test. and upper GI>>
What a fun day :(
I was told I had a hital ??spelling hernia ?? I believe he said a slippage hernia also my esoftagus was full of acid reflux... Anyone else with these issues. WOuld love help with a explaination. Dont go back to doctor till next week...

I had the same thing. My doctor said he found a huge hital hernia. during the upper GI. They will repair it during the surgery. The great thing is you probably won't have any more acid reflux.

Hi:

I had a hiatal hernia repaired at the same time as my LAP-BAND® surgery. I think they use a piece of mesh to keep your herniated stomach from popping up into your esophogus area. I know that I've had reflux and heartburn for years before being banded. I hardly ever had reflux since my LAP-BAND® and hernia surgery. I don't think anything extra to do during recovery if they fix your hernia too.
