Pre-op liquid diet = nausea???

Hi Everyone!

I just started my 2-week pre-op liquid diet on Monday, and today I am super nauseous. I don't know if it's nerves or if this is normal... Did anyone experience this? It's not lactose intolerance, I don't think.

Maybe lack of sugar, low sugar will can make you sick, about 3 or 4 days into the pre-op diet (mine was not a liquid diet but no sugar) I did not fill good and I got weak and broke down and ate a Snickers bar and I felt better......I don't think you should eat a Snickers but maybe call your doctor to see if you can do something else.

its because your only drinking liquids it will go away im on day nine and doing better

It's probably a combination of a drastic change in your diet and maybe a little anxiety about the surgery? What kind of liquids are you drinking?

I'm totally nauseous too. I'm thinking it's the protein shakes. Perhaps my body is not used to taking in 52 grams of protein at once. I'm on day three of my diet.
