I just had my pre-op appt, and I'm getting so excited (and a little nervous). My surgery is on the 8th! My doctor, Dr. J. Cribbins is great! He's laid back, and I am completely comfy with him! Which is great! I told him I was hating the pre-op diet, and he said just keep trying, and that it really does shrink the liver. He said just keep it healthy and I'll be fine.
I feel so much better, and I'm really looking forward to getting banded!!

Well, with my doctor, it's a liquid diet, no sugar, low fat. Only steamed veggies, and strained soups. High protien is really stressed! Like protien shakes and such. However, he did tell me today that the liquid is not so much important, as the low sugar, low fat. He stressed that whatever I eat should be healthy... and, the liquid part gets your body ready for post-op I guess. Every doctor has a little bit different pre-op diet. A friend of mine is having surgery the same day, but her diet is like the adkins diet. No breads, carbs, sugars basically.
Hi, my surgery is on the 8th also. I had my pre-op apt yesterday. I have been on the pre-op diet since Saturday, I have lost 2 pounds since I started. I am sticking to it, my husband says a little too much. I have only been averaging 500-700 calories a day. But I am getting 50 grams of protein and that is what is important. Good luck!
