Port Site Pain

I had my surgery on 1/10, and now the area where my port is hurts even more than it did after surgery. There is a lump directly under my incision site that is a little bigger than it was before. Has anyone else experieced this?

There are two kinds of lumps -- one is tissue that seems to be swelling right beneath the incision, then there's a lump about the diameter of a walnut that must be the port structure itself. Port pain is pretty common. It eventually fades.

My port was very uncomfortable in the beginning and it was due to swelling. I was having spasms in the beginning too and my doctor said it was just the muscle trying to reject the port, and thankfully my muscle accepted it. It's so soon after your surgery. You still have a lot of healing to do. It'll be fine. Congrats on the surgery.
