Turning a corner?

I'm not sure if I'm turning a corner on this diet or if I was just having an exceptional day but today wasn't so bad. My headache went away (after it poured rain) late last night and I didn't sleep well at all - up every few hours just enough to be awake and afraid I wouldn't go back to sleep and then I'd go out again. I wonder if its pre surgery jitters causing that. Anywho... I didn't feel like I was starving all day and my brain was functioning fairly well too. Despite not sleeping well I wasn't dragging my rear end either.

Today was a new day and I hope the same to each of you!

Now its time for a pumpkin spice protein smoothie.

Me neither! If it isn't real chocolate it just isn't right!

All I did was take a hi protein vanilla ensure (you could use skim milk or another protein drink) added a scoop of protein powder, 1 tablespoon of pumpkin puree and some pumpkin spice and blended it up and poured it over ice. Give it a whirl

I wonder if it was the weather rather than the diet..
probably both, a drop in barometric pressure as well as the

And now today is half over....its getting closer!! This weekend I think I will experiment with mixing my protein into smoothies. I have tropical banana flavored Amplify that I have been mixing with milk. its like drinking thick milk and really sweet. I bet i can mix it with OJ instead and ice and blend it into a smoothie. What else do you think banana flavor will mix with? Maybe pineapple juice will cut the sweetness just a bit? Weeeee! can't wait till the weekend is over. I plan to stay busy doing yard work if it doesn't rain. That will make the time go faster.

Hang in there, Leigh! 3 more days! The dr's office is supposed to call me tomorrow and let me know what time to be at the hospital on Monday. Hope its early, but not too early...its a 2 1/2 hr drive to get there. My son will drive me there and he's a night owl but I don't want to get up and leave at 3 or 4 am, no matter how excited and unable to sleep I will be!!

I feel tired when I don't take my vitamins or drink a lot of water. If worse comes to worse I have a cheesestick and that usually helps my energy levels, but even so I have no where near the same amount of energy I had when I was eating whatever I wanted.

I wonder if we were using the sugar and caffine in normal foods to keep our pace up without realizing it. The longer I do this more I tend to believe I certainly was doing that.

Thanks, I can't wait to try it.....there are only 4 net carbs in a half of cup of pumpkin so a tablespoon would be next to nothing as far as carbs go!!!!!! I am on day 3 and it is better.......

Thanks again

Come to think of it, I remember writing in my journal about how I realized in the first few days of my liquid diet how artifical my energy has been most of my life, mainly sugar.

You're right, that's a part of it, but I feel better now with out all of the "extras" in my system.

Smile

well something odd has happened
I went from so tired I could hardly stay awake for more than 3 hrs at a time to
not being able to sleep at all and my energy levels are like in overdrive
not sure if it's excitement about Monday or that my body has finally detoxed enough to let the true body energy go head on into gear

it's really weird
maybe it's like "nesting' when you have a baby..
all that energy just kicks in

I don't know
anyone else have this happen to them
oh yea I lost 2 more pounds when I weighed this morning
I Know I Know don't get obsessive about the scales..
but I just can't help it..

Alrighty, Leigh!!! 2 more pounds gone forever!!! Send me some of that energy. I had a little more yesterday than I have had, but still really tired most of the time. And a lower back pain that has never subsided, don't know if thats a kidney thing or what...I didn't lift anything heavy so who knows. Hospital should be calling today to tell me what time to get there. Wow, I thought this day would never come, now its coming like a freight train!! Congrats on the weight loss. I am gonna step up things this weekend to see if I can drop 1-2 before monday.:biggrin2:

I sorry about your back, just hang in there you'll lose some weight and
it'll relieve a LOT of that....

~~Brain Ripple~~
it's like OH WOW..
Monday is so close...
over and over..

This afternoon I managed to tread 3.5 miles, brunt 465 calories
and dropped 2 more pounds of water
so that's 4 pounds today.. but it will probably go back up, due to it BEING water
yes I jumped the scales again
it's astounding, I didn't even do this good on Adkins

did the hospital call you like they said..
what time?? I dying to know~

I have to be there at 10:30am and have my tummy looking very pregnant
from being gassed by 1:30pm..
so maybe we'll be home by 5pm..
sure hope so

Leigh, I might be home before you! They want me there at 6am!!! Which is fine, but I have to drive 2 1/2 hrs to get there Thats great you are able to get on your treadmill. I haven't had enough energy since I started this diet to lift a finger! Hope that changes when I can eat a bit more. Not much longer now!!!
