I am 60+ female. I went to covington LA to Why Weight, they said the lap band did not work well for older patients. Is any one on here that is older and have had the Lap Band if so please give to some input. Thanks JO

Hmm, I know several people around 60 who have lapbands...I dunno why it would be a problem. I'd ask different doctor's etc. I guess it depends how much older than 60 you are.

I would check the 50s and 60s board. I know that my "band mom" (no relation, just became related through our experience on the board) is 53 and lost 92 pounds in 9 months. I would say she did quite well! THose would be the boards to check out though...they seem to have a quite a good support group there! Good luck and I think that ANYONE can do this if they get their head in the right spot!

I had my surgery at 66 without any problems whatsoever and am doing very well. I have so much more mobility and energy that I did not have even 5 months ago. I you have any questions, ask away.
