Has anyone been denied by their doctor?

I am a self-pay, because I live in Canada, which means that I don't have to worry about insurance approval. What I am wondering has anyone been turned down by the WLS doctor? If so, what were the reasons? Any advice you can give to me to better my chances of success tomorrow?
