Chewing become habit?

I'm considering banding and have tried eating the Lap Band way and never realized what big bites I take, how little I chew, and how mindless my eating is! Does this new way of eating ever become habit so that you don't have to totally concentrate on every bite?

Well you teach yourself some lessons with eating too fast. The pain. It feels like heartburn. That slows you down. The eating too much does too. You learn how much portion of different kinds of food you can eat.

It changes all thru the process.

I am banded and have alot of difficulty eating tiny bites and chewing the food to death. With that said, I spit up almost every other day because of not eating right. I am trying to learn, but it takes time-alot of time. Ja9

I also have trouble slowing down and taking small bites. Chewing is not difficult, but I can't seem to slow it down at all. I haven't been sick or PB'd at all. My first fill was 7/9. Maybe I need another one?

Yes, my first fill I had no restriction. The second-WOW-do I feel it. Also, I eat fast sometimes because I am rushed and I pay for it. I don't PB really, just lots of slime.

I know I eat too fast and do not chew enough... I'm practicing to overcome this NOW and forever. I wonder if it came from the old family routine of "last one done has to do the dishes" ...

...slowing down, chewing lots...
