BP Meds

How soon do people usually go off them?

I have high blood pressure, but it's controlled with meds. I was banded on 12/27/07. Since my 2 week preop diet I have lost 30 lbs. However the last 2 times I went to the doc my BP was pretty high. ( It could be nerves) I sure would like for weight loss to regulate my BP so I can get off my meds.

Congratulations on being banded. I can only share from my personal experience, so what happened with me was that slowly and I noticed it maybe about 2 months after surgery that I would get lightheaded in the AM after taking my high blood pressure meds. I did get it checked once in a awhile then when i knew that it was going to be low (consistently) I am a nurse by the way. Then I went to my doctor who officially took me off the meds.
