Advice please!!

Hi. help please.....:help: I was banded in London UK on the 25 Feb. The swelling has mainly gone except where the largest scar is. Port site?... The pain had gone, but... now its back with a vengeance! The whole area is swollen and really tender and the pain is waking me at night, it also feels like the port is sticking out. I'm assuming that this is the port site. Has anyone else had the same problem? Is this normal and just part of the recovery process? Thank you. Helen x

Have you tried calling and talking with your Dr. to see if it is something he thinks he needs to look at?
Is it warm/hot to the touch? If so I would go to a Dr. today. If not, I may watch it to see, if maybe my port had popped a stitch. If that is the case, you need to tell your Dr, as it may cause the port to flip, which can be repaired easily, but they need to be aware that something is going on.
I don't think what you are feeling is exactly "normal", it may however be nothing unusual. The best thing to ease your mind would be to check in with the Dr., and if he is worried, he will want to see it, if he isn't then you too can relax.
Let us know how it goes. Good Luck!
Kat

I would suggest that you contact your surgeon immediately.
