Abdominal swelling

I am two day post op and my belly is huge. How long does it take the swelling to go down?

Also I am trying to wean off the vicodin but I still feel very light headed. Is this the general anesthesia? How long does this take to wear off, typically? I feel a bit woozy and can't read very well, or for very long.

The swelling started going down for me in about three days or so. I didn't take any serious pain meds like vicodin during recovery...luckily I didn't need them. But, I have taken vicodin for back problems in the past...it made me feel light headed. But, if you are truly feeling woozy and lightheaded I would call the surgeon's office and ask if it's OK. I'm on day two.. I can't take vicodin.. it makes me hallucinate like crazy and dizzy as hell. Sounds to me you might not be tolerating the vicodin well. Also if your taking the nasuea suppositories they can cause dizziness as well.
