New Whey "Test Tubes"

Okay, so I got a lot of these test tube things... they have 42g of protien in each one... but they taste like the worst thing in the entire world!!
So... I've made them into Protien Jell-O! :)
Just make sure the flavors match... I have orange and grape. Just make the jello according to the directions and add the "test tube" to the cold water you add to the jello... it is actually not bad! :) I haven't tried the grape yet.. it is chilling in the fridge right now, but the orange... Pretty good! Good luck all!!

Re: New Whey "Test Tubes"

The New Whey protein tubes aren't cheap so as a way to "stretch" your dollars, remember, unless you are in training for a triathlon, your body can only absorb about 20 grams of protein at a time so 1/2 of the tube is all you should take at one time.

Also, an average person only needs 60-80 grams of protein a day so if you are eating fish, chicken and tuna, then you are getting plenty of protein without additional protein shots/shakes. My doctor keeps telling us, save your money and MOST IMPORTANTLY, save your calories for solid proteins. The tube has 172 calories and even 1/2 equals 86 calories.

Re: New Whey "Test Tubes"

I have the tubes and I tell ya I mix them in gatorade and since finding out that we don't absorb the whole 42 grams I only pour half in my gatorage and it makes it very tasteful to me. Good luck!

Re: New Whey "Test Tubes"

I mix my tubes with crystal light. For example I mix the grape tube with grape crystal light (actually I buy the walmart or other store brand). It makes it taste a lot better!

Re: New Whey "Test Tubes"

What do you mean we don't absorb all 42 grams of protein?

Re: New Whey "Test Tubes"

I have seen it on this site and others that the body only absorbs about 20 g of protein at a time. I haven't asked my nutritionist about it, but I have read it several places.
