I can't even drink a whole 4oz gerber apple prune juice in one sitting I can only get down maybe half. I am 5 days post-op I wonder if this is normal. |

You are my lb sister :0)
Sounds like you are very restricted. Have you tried hot tea - I know that in the mornings my tummy feels tight - i have read where it you are tight in the morning drink something hot and it helps loosen the band up.
I am careful about eating - i bought this little bowl from target and it's what i use to eat with it hold 1 cup but i never fill it to the top.
When do u go back to the doctors?? You might want to try the drinking somethimg warm - and if that doesn't open you up - i would call your doctor.
I am not counting calorie - i am only counting protein grams as i am eating very health - no sugar stuff every thing is surgar free and i did put about 1/2 butter in my potatos last night.
I would Call your doctor - you are not going to heal if you can't eat

Hey, y'all, I got this recipe off of the bouillon cube box. It's pretty fabulous! I made a couple of changes: shallots for onions, garam masala for just "curry", just stuff like that.
Enjoy! Cream of Pumpkin Curry Soup 3 Tbs butter 1 cup thinly sliced shallots 1 clove garlic pressed 1/2 tsp kosher salt 1 tsp garam masala 1/4 tsp ground coriander 1/8 tsp cayenne 3 cups water 3 Maggi veggie bouillon cubes 15 oz can Libby's solid pack pumpkin 1 cup half-and-half Melt butter in large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add shallots and garlic; cook for 3-5 minutes, or until tender. Stir in garam masala, salt, coriander, and cayenne; cook for 1 minute. Add water and bouillon; brink to a boil. Reduce heat to low; cook, stirring occasionally, for 15-20 minutes. Stir in pumpkin and half-and-half; cook for 5 minutes. Pour into food processor or blender container. Cover, blend until creamy. Serve warm, or reheat to desired temperature.:hungry:

State: Canada | Pumpkin Custard Pudding - for mushy phase
I 've been making this for a while on WW.
1/2 of a 28oz can of PUMPKIN ( the veg. not the pie filling)
1 large can of Evaporated Skim Milk (carnation works fine)
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup Splenda sweetner
1 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 tsp. Allspice
1/4 tsp Nutmeg
or any othe Pumpkin Pie spice combo that YOU like.
I spray 6 ramkins with PAM, then divide the liquid evenly.
BAKE in 350F oven for 45 - 50 mins. or until toothpick inserted in centre comes out dry.
this is delicious and is a family favorite, very filling and FULL of PROTEIN and fibre.

Just a quick word of thanks to all those who have taken the time to post. I am in rural Queensland, Australia, and am rather isolated from a support point of view. I have been following this forum for the last week or so.
The recipes you guys have posted and you enthusiasm is a really helping me to get through this pretty tough time (15 days post).
Cheers
ps:my graph shows my starting weight when I first started the consultation process in march 07, I lost 18 kgs (38 lbs ish) pre-op !?!

I just went through here and saved a bunch of recipes that sounded good to me. I'm not so afraid of doing the mushie stage now! Thanks everyone. It is nice to have normal meals and just go on to puree them. :) If I come up with anything, I will for sure post them here! |

Hi , welcome to bandland! you really don't need a list, you need a mini chopper. I got a Cuisinart mini prep plus that I just love. it cost a bit more than some of the others but worth it, I've had others! just take about anything you love and puree it ;) I like carrot soup that I make which is already pureed, tonight I put in some chicken that I chopped (with a little water added to make it kinda like a spread) I also chop ham and put in a little relish and lite mayo for ham salad.
you will always need the option for mushy stuff. I didn't need it after the 1st couple weeks of protocol till this last fill, I can do some "normal" food but I am having a little trouble with the chicken so have kept myself longer on the mushy side, once you've experienced "foaming":omg: (just happened 1st time after this fill) you learn quick to be carefull . mashed potatoes are GREAT and go down nice. Good luck;)
